The men’s Columbia Powder Keg (a pretty interesting name, if you ask me) Down Puffer is a solid choice for both light frosts and slightly colder weather. What sets the Powder Keg apart from the heaviest record-cold jackets is its thinner insulation.
The Powder Keg belongs to Columbia’s range designed for urban use.
In addition to the quality down fill, the jacket features Columbia’s own Omni-Heat Infinity lining, whose feather-light metallic dots reflect your body’s heat radiation back towards the skin.

For those interested in the technical side: the “HeatSeal” construction used in this jacket sits roughly halfway between a through-stitched and a box-wall design. The seams on through-stitched jackets let heat escape, but box-wall construction is expensive and heavy. As the name suggests, the HeatSeal construction is made by fusing the material together, without stitching.
